A NIGHT TO REMEMBER
Following a successful inaugural event in 2016, The Fusion
Foundation will once again be hosting its Fusion Foundation
Gala Ball in the heart of Ryde.
Raising more than $30,000 last year, organisers of the
glittering black-tie function are committed to making the 2017
event bigger and better, with a target of $150,000.
formed in 2016 by a
group of Ryde locals
who wanted to make
a difference in their
community. They set out to achieve this by hosting an
annual fundraising event to benefit local charities, including
Alzheimer’s Australia NSW.
The event includes a three-course meal and entertainment,
live and silent auctions and the opportunity to win some
The event will be held at Curzon Hall in Marsfield from 7pm
on Friday 27 October.
Payce, a property development and investment company, is
the gold sponsor of The Fusion Foundation Gala.
Tickets cost $190 per person or $1800 for a table of

WORLD ALZHEIMER’S DAY
World Alzheimer’s Day is on 21 September and
Alzheimer’s Australia NSW will once again take
over Sydney train stations to raise funds to support
dementia services, education and research.
Our loyal band of volunteers will be taking donations
at train stations throughout the day, with a goal to
raise even more than the $8000 raised last year. So
if you’re a Sydney commuter and you see a volunteer
asking for donations, please make sure you dig deep.
Are you keen to volunteer? It’s not too late.
Or if you prefer to raise funds through your
workplace or in your local community, we can
help. Contact email@example.com
for more information on how you can volunteer
and get involved.
MEMORY WALK & JOG SEASON
Alzheimer’s Australia NSW would like to say a big
thank you to the 6000 walkers and runners who took
part in Memory Walk & Jog events across the state
this year. You not only raised vital funds to support
the work we do for people with dementia, their
families and carers, but you also took a step towards
a better future, by showing people that you care.
A special thank you to our Major Partner: Opal Aged Care;
State Partner: Eli Lilly; City Partners: NSW Elder Abuse
Helpline & Resource Unit and Day by Day Art Therapy;
Local Partners: Wollongong City Council, Corrimal Rotary,
Penrith Council, Nepean Rotary, Leichhardt City Council,
Lions Club of Dundas, Lake Macquarie City Council,
Hunter Water, Marina Views Function Centre, Bella Vista
Wedding & Function Centre and Port Macquarie Hastings
Council; and Media Partner: Yours Magazine. We couldn’t
make this great event happen without your support.
Keep your eyes open in October for 2018
tour dates. See you all next year!
HOST A THINKO! NIGHT
We know that brain health is serious business, but
keeping your brain in top form can also be fun.
This Dementia Awareness Month, why not host a Thinko!
night with your friends, family or work colleagues. We make
it so easy for you – all you have to do is decide if you prefer
trivia or games, then choose topics that your team will enjoy
... then we send you everything you need. It’s that easy!
Doing Thinko! this September is a great way to give
the people you love a full brain workout, and it’s also a
fun way to show your support to Alzheimer’s Australia
and the work done to support people with dementia,
their loved ones and carers. Why not ask your friends to
bring a dish each and donate what you would have spent
on a night out together instead? Or you could charge
people a fee if they want to cheat on a trivia question.
However you decide to do your Thinko!, we’ll be here to
help you every step of the way and make it so easy.
Request your FREE games or trivia pack today at www.
thinko.org.au or call Whitney on 02 8875 4673.
